Weekly Spelling Words preschool grow preorder hold prepaid hurt preheat keep pretest kind preview prebook prebake prebuy precast Language Arts - We are analyzing writing samples and looking at different elements that can be added to make our writing more interesting such as action, dialogue, thoughts/feelings, description and sound effects. Math - We are completing our unit on measuring with non-standard units. We should have our chapter test by week's end. Science - We are sorting different insects according to different attributes. Also, we are looking at insects' mouths, their homes and camouflague. Social - We are looking at the local geography around Saskatoon as well as the prairies. We will look at the indigenous people who lived and who are living in the area as well. This Week - Monday - Tuesday - SAAG Field trip (9- 10:30) / Library Wednesday - Pizza orders due Thursday - Friday - Sunday - Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful mothers and grandmothers in our class. Math - We are doing assessments to see how well we understand adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers. Also, we are assessing our understanding of the calendar. Science - We welcome Scientists in School for the workshop "Ugh to a Bug". We will learn how the animal kingdom is classified and identify our current understandings of insects. Social - We are continuing our learning of the Prairies and more specifically, Saskatoon. Important Notes: Monday - Scientists in School Tuesday - Library Class Wednesday - Wear a Hat for "Mental Health Week" Thursday - Pizza Hot Lunch/ Plant orders due/ Spring Picture orders due Friday - Father Salvadore visits the classroom Remember that this week is Catholic Education Week.
